We celebrate The Way!

2021

Dear Friends,

We celebrate The Way towards Easter!

In the Catholic Church, this day is part of the Easter Triduum, composed of Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil, the most important period of the liturgical year.

On Good Friday, we celebrate the Passion and Death of Jesus, and for this reason, silence, fasting and prayer should mark this moment. Passion should not be lived in an atmosphere of mourning, but of deep respect and meditation in the face of the Lord's death, who, when he died, was victorious and brought salvation to all, resurrecting to eternal life. It is necessary to maintain “inner silence” together with fasting and abstinence from meat. It must be a day of meditation, of contemplating the love of God, who “gave us His only Son so that whoever believes in Him may not perish, but have eternal life” (Jn 3:16).

At 3:00 pm on Good Friday, we contemplate the death of Jesus in profound adoration. It is the main ceremony of the day, the Passion of the Lord. Isaiah (52: 13-53) places, before our eyes, "the Man of sorrows", "despised as the last of mortals", "wounded because of our sins, crushed by our crimes". God died for us in a human way.

United to the Passion of the Lord, we will reap the fruits of His salvation.

A huge HUUUUUG! Fátima C. Brízio
