WE celebrate ALL SAINTS' DAY!

2021

Dear Friends,

Today we celebrate All Saints' Day!

The Church annually celebrates on November 1st the liturgical solemnity of All Saints, in which it jointly remembers “the elect who are in the glory of God”, whether or not they have been officially canonized, as well as commemorating (in advance) the day. of the Defunct Faithful, which is celebrated on the 2nd of November.

According to tradition, in Portugal, on All Saints' Day, children went out into the street and gathered in small groups to ask for "Bread for God" from door to door: they recited verses and received bread, bread, cakes as an offering. , pomegranates, walnuts, almonds or chestnuts, which they placed inside their cloth bags; in some villages this day is called "Cookie Day".

Not only today, but every day, we must honor all our departed loved ones that we love so much!

"Death is not the end, but the beginning of a new dimension of life - eternal life!"
